Mines and Geosciences Bureau – Regional Office No. 1 (MGB-I) recently put together their plan of achieving international quality recognition through acquiring an ISO certified status for three standards namely, Quality Management System (ISO 9001:2015), Environmental Management System (ISO 14001:2015), and Occupational Health and Safety Assessment (BS OSHAS 18001:2017).
A gap assessment and planning session was conducted at Kahuna Resort in San Juan, La Union last July 11-12, 2017. It was led by AGF Consulting Group, a leading ISO consulting, training, assessment and research firm in the country today. The training equipped the participants from the Mine Safety Division, Environment and Social Development Division, Mine Management Division, Geosciences Division, and the Finance and Administrative Division with the necessary knowledge to realize their goal of acquiring the three ISO standards certification.
In a post in their official website dated 25th of July 2017, MGB-I stated that their focus during the assessment was to understand the different process flows of the organization’s various services. They firmly believe that implementing these three ISO standards will improve their operation and will help them achieve their ultimate goal of consistently providing excellent service to the nation.
